Filippi is a well known restaurant in the island port of Korčula on Petar Kanavelić walkway, known as Zakerjan by the local townsfolk. Tables are set in this exceptionally attractive location, directly above the water and looking out over the Pelješac channel and islands of the Korčula archipelago.
The restaurant offers modern Dalmatian cuisine based on local artisan pasta and fresh herbs used creatively in a contemporary style of cuisine: healthy, delicious, visually attractive, and setting a new standard for the island and town of Korčula.
The wine list features regional wines from nearby Pelješac and the islands of Korčula and Hvar, with emphasis on smaller producers whose wines are not widely available commercially.
As owners, we want our restaurant to promote local producers, and we source all our ingredients as close to home as possible.
We had a wonderful white table cloth experience at Filippi. The food is amazing, the wine stellar and the service exemplary. While it is the end of the season, the Manager treated us like we were his cherished friends out for the evening. AND, they gave us a complimentary dessert! The restaurant is somewhat pricy for Croatia but worth it. WE spent about $104 US but had two salads (one with burrata cheese which I highly recommend), One beer, three glasses of wine, the truffle pasta (delish!) and we shared the grilled sea bass. We are going back for our last night here!
We dined at Filippi last night and were not disappointed. First off we asked for wine recommendations and the manager, Zack, was very knowledgeable. He brought us two different whites of the region to try with our starters and they were both excellent. With our main courses he suggested two reds that were even better. They went well with the duck & fig entre which was cooked rare as requested, as well as the home made pasta with black truffle sauce, also excellent. A rich chocolate walnut cake paired with muscat, also from the region, finished the meal. While we have enjoyed the various fish preparations of Montenegro and Croatia on this trip we were craving something different. Fillipi was just the right place!
I tied Filippi last night with my girlfriend. The view from our table was incredible. Korčula is very beautiful there in the evening. Our waiter was very nice, friendly, attentive and helpful. We decided to skip starters and just have water and a glass of red wine with the couvert. Then for main I had the Pasta pappardelle and my girlfriend the white fish. We finished with 2 pieces of cake. It came to about 70€ which is more like the price I'd expect at home in Ireland. So we were disappointed by the value. But that said, the scenery, service and food were top class so full marks. A really nice treat but not for every night of our holiday.
